Copped Hall, Epping - Apple Day

A sunny afternoon drew large crowds to Copped Hall for the annual Apple Day celebrations.  

Enjoyed the 'home-made' cakes and 'home-grown' apples.  Great to see the progress the wonderful supporters of the renovation of the Hall have made.

The walled garden is always the first place I go to on a sunny day visit.

Truman Brewery - London E1

On a visit to the 'Rough Trade' record store in the Truman Brewery, London, E1, I took the opportunity to shoot some more street art.

Turned to B&W to capture the cold and bleak view across a creek of Poole harbour taken from Arne nature reserve.

I like the broken view as glimpsed through this bird hide.

Water-Lilly Pond

It is nearly impossible to see a lilly pond without thinking of Monet's beautiful paintings.  Although this photo was inspired by Monet …I realise it is easier to take a photo than produce an oil painting.  This pond is one of many at Arne RSPB nature reserve, near Wareham, Dorset.

Corfe Castle and the Swanage Railway

The imposing ruins of Corfe Castle looks down upon the village and railway line.

A Walk in the Arne nature reserve

A weekend walk in the RSPB nature reserve in Arne, near Wareham in Dorset.  Beautiful walking trails take you to the shores of Poole Harbour.

Bluebell Woods - Wanstead Park

Another glorious show of Bluebells in Wanstead Park near the Temple.  Get there soon if you want to see them - they won't last for long!  But do not pick any !

Bright and blustery day saw great cloud formations above the Temple in Wanstead Park.  

Happy Hanukah….

Sufganiyot (Doughnuts) will be eaten by the score during the 8 days of Hanukah.  I'll be on the lookout for those infused with creme patisserie instead of jam. Delicious!!!

2014 UCI World Track Cycling - Velodrome, Stratford

On Sunday,  at the Olympic Velodrome in Stratford, the 2014 UCI World Track Cycling championship was in full swing.  We are lucky to have such a great venue on our doorstep.

The Wanstead Bluebells

Probably the best display of bluebells in the area can be found in Chalet Wood, near the Temple in Wanstead Park.  Plan a trip within the next couple of weeks otherwise you maybe too late.

Guildhall Jazz Festival….

Great jazz music played by students at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama during the school's Jazz Festival week.
