New v Old - London E1 (Part 2)

The photo above was taken from within the Crisis Skylight Cafe on Commercial Street.  This restaurant serves good food at great prices (and helps train the single homeless in the catering trade).

Below is a view along Princelet Street towards Wilkes Street.  These properties have been lovingly restored and provides a welcome reprieve from the more impersonal modern buildings of the City.

Take a short stroll just outside the City of London going east to find a marked contrast between the new and the old.

Beginning of Spring ?  No photographer can resist a host of daffodils.  And, of course, everyone is now a photographer!

Sunday Walk in Greenwich Park

A sunny Sunday morning brings out the crowds to Greenwich Park playground.  The offices at Canary Wharf will remind many of the parents that Monday morning's work is a day away - time to relax and have fun.

Making tracks

These bike and dog tracks beneath the park bench intrigued me (I was having rather a boring day!). 

Soggy bottoms

Another rainy week and the ground is waterlogged.  Still we are much more fortunate than those people living in locations that are now flooded.

Somewhere over the rainbow...

Just walked back home in the downpour.  Five minutes later the sun came out and a rainbow could be seen from my house window.  I rushed downstairs to grab the camera which was low on battery - only managed to get this one shot.  Lesson - always keep the battery charged !
