The Last Picture Show

My early attendance at a mid-week, afternoon screening meant that I had time to get this shot of an empty cinema awaiting an audience.

January trip to St Pancras station and The British library

A couple of shots taken while walking through the redeveloped St Pancras station.

Above - I like this view of a shop without a roof taken from the balcony next to the Eurostar platform.

Below - A staircase leading from the ground floor to the balcony gives a pleasing diagonal with reflections of the beautiful roof.

Below -  A food kiosk at the British library is well-lit and gave me inspiration to title this photo 'a light snack'.

Street Photos -- London

These sculptures are to be found at Canary Wharf in the London Docklands.  I spotted the person seated to the right and it occurred to me that, as he was wearing a green anorak, this echoed the difference between the grass-covered sculptures and artificial grass.  It was also quite a pleasing trio to form my image.

On a windy December day my walk around Canary Wharf was less than pleasing.  As I turned a corner I spotted that these hire bikes had been blown down.  It seemed worth a shot.

Night-time at the Barbican.  I liked the colours of the lights in and around this college building.  The meeting of the pedestrians at the corner was timely to add scale to the image.

Above. At the South Bank near the Queen Elizabeth II Hall.  It is all too common in London to see people  on their phones and not observing their surroundings.  Here a sculpture of a male nude is being ignored.

Above.  One of the many morphs on display at various points around London.  This one looks disapprovingly at a lunchtime office worker running past.  I'm glad to have got the timing right to capture the runner at that point.  Shame about the reflection in the window.

Above.  Spectators at the War memorial ceremony at the Cenotaph in central London.  All eyes are on the ceremony apart from the one woman looking the other way.  I spotted this and thought it may make for an interesting image.
